A Client-Centered Practice
More than just honoring my professional responsibilities, I take the time to look at opportunities and courses of action from your perspective and ask what is most important to you. I consider your overall business strategy, professional and personal goals. Rather than directing any given course of action, I empower you with the information, resources, choices and options you need to allow you to reach the best decision for you and your company. A Sustainable Practice Sustainability is no longer just an alternative these days. It is an obligation. Accordingly, I have chosen to operate as a virtual law firm. This means that I do not maintain traditional offices that most consumers typically associate with law firms. This allows me to keep overhead costs low, provide greater work/life balance and flexibility, employ eco-friendly, paperless, and other cost-saving practices, and maintain reasonable fees. My hope is that these measures contribute to your efforts to achieve your own sustainability initiatives and social impact goals. A Focused Practice Karyn Osinowo Law Offices is about you and the people you want to help. I believe that business based on a spirit of service can only succeed. To that end, I have invested my time, energy, ideas and talent to build a law practice focusing exclusively on empowering social entrepreneurs and owners of sustainable businesses to succeed. This work is of critical importance to me, to my clients, to our communities, and to the current state of the world. I am inspired by and excited to work with entrepreneurs dedicated to achieving social and sustainable goals. You deserve the very best of my intelligence and energy because you are addressing critical social needs, driving positive social change, and achieving extraordinary results. With my legal counsel and advocacy as part of your trusted team of advisors, you will continue to change the lives of countless individuals and communities. Who I Am I started my law firm in 1999, having previously been associated with two Illinois law firms in the practice of litigation and environmental law. I also spent several years as a Hearing Commissioner adjudicating various business operations and consumer issues for the City of Chicago. I even taught all levels of high school French (part-time) at a local Catholic school, just before my second daughter was born. I was recently appointed to the Advisory Council on Equity of the Chicago Commission on Human Relations. My service in this role includes advising the Mayor and the City Council on policy matters regarding civil rights with a focus on equal access to employment, housing, and public accommodations. I am a passionate advocate for international human rights, animal rights, and the power of business for social good. I am a native of Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of a Nigerian immigrant, a lover of all things French, and a citizen of the world.
